Chris Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday, August 30, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Public Information Office confirms to Us Weekly.
The news comes after Brown had an hours-long standoff with police after he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun during a gathering at his Los Angeles home.
According to the Los Angeles Times, officers responded to a woman’s call for help at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, after she claimed the “Loyal” singer, 27, pointed a gun at her in a “violent rage.”
The woman, who has been identified as Baylee Curran, told TMZ that the alleged altercation happened over a piece of jewelry.
According to Curran, she was admiring the piece of jewelry when Brown allegedly became upset and demanded that she “get the f–k out.” The Miss California Regional 2016 winner also claimed that the Grammy-winning musician was upset after she refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
Brown claimed in Instagram videos posted to his account Tuesday that he was “asleep half the damn night” and that “it’s always gon’ be f–k the police.”
