Update: Christina Aguilera, Boyfriend Arrested in Drunken Incident

Christina Aguilera continues to spin out of control.
L.A. County Sheriff's Department confirms to UsMagazine.com that the star, 30, was arrested early Tuesday morning in West Hollywood -- along with her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler.

After Rutler, 25, was observed driving erratically, cops pulled over his car, in which Aguilera was a passenger. At 2:45 a.m., Rutler was arrested for driving under the influence -- and the "Not Myself Tonight" singer was booked on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.
"They were cooperative, no problems at all," Sgt. Michael Thomas of West Hollywood Sheriff's Department tells Us of the arrest.

Thomas explained to Us that Aguilera was taken into custody "for her own safety. It's kind of a welfare 'arrest.' Not a criminal arrest. She was intoxicated -- too much to be in public. No one was available to take care of her, because the person she was with was arrested for drunk driving. When it's determined she's sober, she'll be released."
According to the L.A. Times, Aguilera's bail was set to $250; Rutler's bail is $30,000.
Pals of the Burlesque star spoke up in a recent issue of Us Weekly about Aguilera's increasingly rowdy, drunken antics -- which included a New Year's Eve blowout fight with her mom, a booze-filled night of crying at L.A. club The Dime, and even passing out in star Jeremy Renner's bed during his 40th birthday bash Jan. 8.

"Her friends are fed up," one source said of the star. "She's really spiraling. I would be shocked if she's not in rehab in the next month or two."
She and husband Jordan Bratman split up last September; the couple were married for five years and have a 3-year-old son, Max.

What happened to this burst of talent. this girl can really sing, she so beautiful and outstanding. But somewhere down the line she tripped herself up. I think between her divorce and the poor outcome from her movie, it may have pushed her over the edge. I hope and pray she makes a recovery.
Maybe her recent incidents like the Superbowl and Grammy slip-ups and her movie flopping along with her recent divorce is causing more stress than people thought. I hope she gets help if she has a drinking problem for her sake and her child's. I like Xtina, she's a natural talent and she shouldn't throw it away with drinking and destructive behavior.

Lorna: The scenario basically leaves police with few options once they arrest her boyfriend other than allowing her to stumble away, call a cab (which may not be much safer) or do what they did. She's not going to be in a car anymore, that's for sure. But anyway give me a break, people. When I was that age (20 years ago) I would have described this as a typical saturday night. Things went well when you didn't wrap the car around a tree, those who couldn't handle their liquor and did, well they pay for their stupidity. By the time you reach a certain age and the piss and vinegar vacates your bloodstream your destination in life is no longer swimming in a bottle in posh nightclubs. May she live to recognize this. (Though I haven't drank in over 10 years, a part of me does miss these kind of hijinks.)

Why should Jordan save her? She checked out of her marriage, probably cheated etc. He needs to save the child. Mama's crazy. Really, just because her bf's drunk doesn't mean she had to be. She's always been wild. No one can make you get drunk. She has free will.
She needs t oclean up her act or she's going to lose her son.
Some of you are too involved in the lives of these celebs. Not sure how she has been a role model, other than getting pregnant after she was married. But, then again, it doesn't really matter and she should never be a role model to anyone but her child.
I can't believe I was a bigger fan of this woman more than Britney Spears over 10 years ago. So sad that she's going down the same road Britney has been through. She needs help not only for herself, for the sake of her son as well. Get help Xtina.

Yes she is going through a rough patch but it my no means she is a bad person or needs help. I highly doubt you can answer yes to all of these questions. Christina is a great person, a good mom. She grew up way too fast. If you know so much about her why don't you take into consideration the crappy childhood she had. Her father beat her mother. Her mother took her and ran away from a rotten situation and made the best for her. Wake up and get your facts straight before you go ridiculing and spewing negativity. Walk a mile in her shoes or Brittany's for a day. You'll see it's not easy.
