Talk about friendly exes. Christina Milian opened up to HuffPost Live on Monday, Oct. 26, about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Lil Wayne, and had nothing but great things to say about her “Start a Fire” collaborator.
“What’s fantastic about everything is we’re adults and we understand maybe it’s not the right time for us,” she said about their relationship. “But we do love each other and I think the best thing to do is preserve our friendship and not ruin it with trying to force it. … When it comes to him, we still love each other, so it’s just appreciating each other and just chilling out. No drama.”
As Us Weekly reported in September, the Christina Milian Turned Up star and rapper split after dating for more than a year. A source told Us at the time that the celebs’ busy schedules were to blame for the end of their relationship, and that the breakup was amicable.
In fact, things are so friendly, Milian, 34, told HuffPost, “We talk to each other still every day,” and hinted that maybe the former pair could potentially give romance another shot. “Eventually, who knows? It might be the right time, this might be it,” she said.
After all, it sounds like the 33-year-old “Nothing But Trouble” rapper is quite the catch, as far as Milian is concerned. “He’s a sweetheart!” she gushed. “ There’s sides to him that I don’t think anybody knows. He’s really, really just a nice guy.”
