Corey Feldman -- who starred in eight movies with the late Corey Haim -- is mourning the death of his longtime friend, who died Wednesday at age 38.

In a statement on his blog, Feldman, 38, writes:

"I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren't even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived."

In 2007, Feldman appeared with Haim in the A&E reality show The Two Coreys, but it was canceled in 2008 after two seasons. The same year, Feldman said he was no longer speaking to Haim until he got sober.

I think When Megan Fox said that everyone in Hollywood does drugs and that she only knew 5 people around her who were substance free was right. I thought I would just help people clue in more to how bad Hollywood is when it comes to drugs! Here are just some of the celebrities I know of who has done drugs and are still using. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Heath Ledger, Kate Moss, Jim Carrey, Charlie Sheen, Snoop Dogg, Anna Nicole Smith, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Robert Downey Jr, Amy Winehouse, Sylvester Stallone, Tara Reid, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oliver Stone, The Baldwins, Nick Nolte, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Brad Renfro, Howard K Stern, Macaulay Culkin, Tom Sizemore, Chris Benoit, Tatum O'Neal, Madonna, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andy Dick, Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, Melanie Griffith, Naomi Campbell, Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, Colin Farrell, Steve-O, DMX, Chyna, AJ Maclean, Aaron Carter, Angelina Jolie, Kirsten Dunst, David Hasselhoff, DJ AM, Joaquin Pheonix, River Pheonix, John Mayer, Mary Kate Olsen, Elvis Presley, Kristen Stewart, Nick Carter, Mischa Barton, Pete Doherty, Lil Wayne, Keifer Sutherland, Janice Dickinson, Charles Barkley, Brad Pitt, Artie Lange, Eminem, Coolio, Heather Locklear, Boy George, Ryan O'Neal, Craig Robinson, Sean Paul, Steven Adler, Ron Wood, Gary Dourdan, Chris Farley, Natasha Lyonne and the list goes on and on. I think this says alot and that's a pretty good chunk of people! And there will be plenty more drug related deaths in Hollywood to come because celebrity drug use will do nothing to change the situation! We are experiencing a overdose epidemic people! Accidental deaths from illegal and legal prescription drugs have increased in the last decade! 22, 000 Americans died from this in 2008. This a terrible example for our youth! Any celebrity out there who's addicted to drugs or alcohol...PLEASE GET HELP NOW!

Ok....it took alot for me to finally say something. Both Corey's have been friends of mine for many years. I appreciate everyone with well wishes. All I have to say to all the negatives is don't judge what you DON'T know. All you know is what the media tells you. I knew Corey H very well and he was indeed getting his life back in order and spending every waking minute taking care of his ill mom. Who are you people to judge? Corey did not have a mean bone in his body and would do anything for anyone and because he may of made some bad decisions in the past should he be ridiculed for the rest of his life and even in death? And as far as Corey F...there is no looking to be in the public eye. He lost his best friend plain and simple and so did I. So if you are not going to post anything positive on here, please let it be then and let the rest of us grieve the loss of our friend!!

For people who are complaining about the 8:30am wake-up by Feldman must be forgetting about the fathers that work graveyard shifts

I have to say I feel as though Cory Feldman tends to "cash in" on opportunities that are presented by someone elses loss. I am sure this is difficult for him but to release such a statement at this time seems a little inappropriate (IMO). I am so saddened by the loss of Corey Haim - I always felt he had so much more potential but was never guided in the direction that didn't involve substance absuse. Hollywood claims another life far to young.

Beautiful and heart felt statement by Cory Feldman...

How anyone can say anything cruel about this sad situation is beyond me! Corey was somebody's baby! There is a mother who just lost her baby! No matter the reason- or his age - he was loved through his torment and illness!!! Be kind or keep it to yourself!! And I HOPE Corey Feldman talks about it -- so that his life may possibly bring healing to others who may need it!

I just want to tell corey fieldman Im sorry about him losing his friend they were friends for a long time and no one but he knows how he feels you two were my favorite actors when i was younger and I followed both as I was older. My heart goes out to you and I hope corey Haim is resting in peace now.

  • March 10, 2010 - 11:51pm Jack

I hope he didn't die from overdose. Rest in Peace, Corey.

It's a shame that Corey Haim died so young. He was obviously dealing with allot of demons. I believe that Corey Haim was a talented person who, at a tender age, was exposed to the very dark and seedy side of Hollywood. My heart goes out to his family and friends that he left behind. I think people need to respect the fact that this was a human being who was loved and is now passed on. I hope he rests in peace.

No matter how it happened...for whatever reason, he is gone. People who post negative comments on here need to get a life. Corey had a family and people who loved him and they deserve respect. I hope Corey Feldman's comments were from heart. But since WE don't know them other than from the silver screen etc, we shouldn't cast any judgement

  • March 10, 2010 - 8:48pm flo

Corey Haim dying has given Corey Feldman more free press than he could have imagined. We can now watch him on every show he book talking about the "brother" her lost.

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:30pm Rachel

why is everyone so concerned with how late Feldman was sleeping, someone died here people. By the way I am a wonderful mother, and on the weekends my husband gets up w/ my son, so I can sleep in, and I sleep past 8:30. A talented actor died, let's focus on what is important people.

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:18pm tony

all Corey F did was talk smack bout Corey H when we did Lost Boys 2 ...... Corey F is just trying to move more in the light and look like the bigger person

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:05pm Ann

    Lucas,REST IN PEACE..

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:04pm Jordy

This is so sad. They were so close. And to every complaining. Since when is it a crime to sleep in? I'm sure your parents slept in once in their life and look, you're alive. Unfortunately you are since you seem to having nothing but hate for someone you don't even know. Being a parent does not mean you have to get up at 2 in the morning.

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:04pm KK

So sad to hear this, my prayers go out to CH's family. There were alot of things CH struggled with during his life and had a hard time coping with them, I only wish that someone could have gotten through to him so that he could still be here today.

  • March 10, 2010 - 7:00pm unknown

I cannot believe how many nasty people are on here commenting on this death of this actor. It's no oneâ??s business if he's sleeping till 8:30 IN THE MORNING. People have problems; everyone has at least one person in their family that has those types of problem so no one should judge. To the one who said "one down one to go", and the other who said they wished it was Robert Pattison, you should never wish death upon anyone no matter how much you may not like them. I feel so sorry for you two. I'm in just in complete sock how people on here are, This is a death of a human being.. Show respect for him, he's family, and friends. As for the other Corey, may god bless you and help you through this and your troublesâ?¦. Rest in peace Coreyâ?¦â?¦
