That’s one more vote Donald Trump can count on. Derick Dillard revealed on Twitter that he will be casting his ballot for the Republican presidential nominee come November 8.
The Counting On star, 27, who is married to Jill Duggar, began the political discussion by encouraging his followers to head to the polls. “Are you registered to vote?! If not, it’s not too late. No excuses. Get ‘er done so you can vote….and then don’t forget to vote!” he tweeted on October 14. He added in a second tweet, “It’s been 8 yrs since I voted in a presidential election from the USA. 4 years ago I voted from >8000 miles away in Nepal. #absenteeballot.”
After bringing up the presidential election, a fan asked Dillard who he’s supporting. “Trump Pence,” he replied.
In a later tweet on Tuesday, October 25, the Arkansas native clarified why he favors the former Apprentice star, 70, over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. “Voting for Trump doesn’t = condoning his lifestyle. It just means agreeing with more of his policies than Clinton’s,” he wrote.
It seems one of those policies is the Trump’s pro-life stance, while Clinton has said she will fight to expand access to safe and legal abortions. “Did @timkaine really suggest that you should live out your faith, but not in your public service?! That’s not right! #chooselife #vpdebate,” Dillard tweeted on October 7 of Clinton’s running mate, who is Catholic but pro-choice.
The rest of the Duggar family has stayed mum on who they’re voting for. They previously endorsed former Arkansas governor and Republican Mike Huckabee before he dropped out of the race.
