Slainte! Courteney Cox spent some quality family time with her daughter Coco Arquette, fiance Johnny McDaid, and his family in Northern Ireland last weekend. Multiple eyewitnesses confirm to Us Weekly that the recently engaged couple were out and about in the city of Derry, where they explored the Snow Patrol rocker's hometown on Thursday, July 24.
During their stroll, a local jewelry shop employee spotted the trio and asked if they wanted to come in and peruse its offerings, an observer tells Us. While they were in the boutique, the owner shared a ring that he had designed.
"[He] thought it would be nice for them to have [it] as a souvenir," an onlooker says. "They are the loveliest couple and are so down to earth that they did not mind getting photos or talking to us."
As for Cox's 10-year-old daughter? "Coco was great too," the source says. "She loved the city also and was spending quality time with Johnny's two sisters. They were all so happy."
After their stop by the jewelry boutique, the stars visited the gift shop next door, where they again posed for pictures with fans. "Coco loved it," the insider notes of Cox's daughter with ex-husband David Arquette. "She was saying how much she loved emeralds, so shop employees gave her an emerald-and-silver shamrock necklace as a souvenir."
At an event on St. Patty's Day in March, Cox commented on McDaid's Irish roots. The star, joking with Us at the Tribeca Film Festival, said that the "most romantic thing" McDaid has ever done for her was "spending St. Patrick's Day with me here."
Both Cox and McDaid left locals starstruck—and over the moon about their visit to the Northern Irish locale. "It was such an exciting time for us because our city is small, homey and compact," one source tells Us. "We never get big stars like Courteney Cox. It was great!"
