Courteney Cox and David Arquette really seem to have divorce figured out. In the February issue of More, the 49-year-old Cougar Town actress opened about life after divorce and why she doesn't hold a grudge against Arquette.
"When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it's not with you," Cox explained to the magazine. The Friends alum and Scream star, 42, were married in 1999 and finalized their divorce in May 2013 after a long separation.
"In divorce you always have regrets," Cox said. "We were married for a long time, so it’s not like we didn't try."
Cox and Arquette are parents to daughter Coco, 9, and have been raising her together. The actor is currently expecting his second child, a baby boy, with girlfriend Christina McLarty. He and the Entertainment Tonight correspondent have been dating on-and-off for over two years.
"Obviously, kids always want their parents to be together," Cox acknowledged. "But as divorces go, this is the best one we could provide."
In addition to handling divorce well, the TBS star, who turns 50 in June, has accepted aging and shared advice on how to do it gracefully.
"Buck up. It ain't easy," she said. "Go to the doctor. Drink water. Sleep as much as you can. Exercise. I get massages—anything for your circulation. Stretch. It's all about keeping that body moving."
