DWTS Finalist Warren Sapp Arrested for Domestic Battery

NFL standout and Dancing With the Stars season 7 runner-up Warren Sapp was arrested Saturday accused of attacking his girlfriend of two years at Miami Beach's Shore Club hotel.
Police were dispatched to the hotel after Sapp's girlfriend, not named by authorities, called to report the 5 a.m. attack around noon. She was later taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center and treated for a swollen knee and bruising on her neck.

According to Miami Beach police spokesman Detective Juan Sanchez, the victim told police she and Sapp got into an argument in their hotel room about her hanging out with other men earlier that evening. The woman alleged that the football star choked and pushed her down on a couch during the argument.
Sapp told police he was helping her off the couch when she fell backward and hurt her leg. "Mr. Sapp did volunteer when we approached him and asked him to come back for questioning," Sanchez told The Sun-Sentinel.

The 37-year-old Sapp, retired since 2008, was in Miami to cover Super Bowl XLIV as an analyst for the NFL Network. On Saturday, the network relieved him from his weekend duties as an on-air correspondent.

"We were made aware this afternoon of the arrest of Warren Sapp by the Miami Police Department (sic). In light of these circumstances, Warren Sapp will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter," the network said in a statement to Miami's CBS4.

Warren Sapp has a history of abuse against women. Just ask his ex-wife or girlfriends. This is not news in Tampa where he played with the Bucs.
Wow some of you are so violent and act like you know exactly what happened. This situation just happened, I don't know either party. Hence, I am willing to see what the law will prove. We don't know for sure if she's cheating. However, even if she was, she still technically doesn't deserve to be beaten up by a man that big and powerful. We don't know their story. Who's to say that he was not the one cheating and thus paranoid that she could cheat on him. We don't know if she's making this up because she wants revenge for something. We just don't know the truth of the matter. Some of you are so jaded by your own stereotypes that you seek to hate the person that you already have a bias against. Please view this as a sad case and not a reason to further hate.
As for Warren Sapp......we don't know yet who is telling the truth. If she is telling the truth, maybe his money and popularity will get him out of it (ala OJ). Or maybe the post OJ/Chris Brown mood has changed and he will be punished. If this woman is lying, maybe her race or skin color/looks (if she is fair, non-black and attractive)will gain her blind sympathy (or maybe she'll threaten to use something she knows about her "man" of 2 years to get away with the lie). Or maybe Sapp will sue her (as athletes are starting to do) and get her slammed for false report and defamation of character. It can go any way. This is not just some poor guy and she is not just some "round the way" girl.

Hmm...Warren Sapp gets pulled from his reporting duties for 'allegedly' beating his girlfriend and yet, I saw plenty of "Two and a Half Men" commercials running during the Super Bowl. Neither of them is any better than the other for being abusers, but talk about a double standard!!
