Birthday boy and family man! David Beckham celebrated his birthday this year with his favorite people -- wife Victoria Beckham and their four kids. The professional soccer player, who signed with Paris St. Germain in January, turned 38 on Thursday, May 2, but waited to celebrate with his loved ones on May 4.
David was treated to a special dinner out in Paris at Chez L'Ami Louis with wife Victoria, sons Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, 8, and daughter Harper, 21 months, a source reveals to Us Weekly. The whole Beckham family enjoyed plates of the French restaurant's renowned chicken dish and berries.
Victoria and the kids were joined by the waiters in singing David "Happy Birthday." The source adds that fashion designer Victoria, 39, gave the birthday boy a big kiss on the lips after the song was finished.
Little Harper sat on mom's lap during the meal, and "the kids were incredibly polite and well-behaved," according to the source.
The hunky soccer star recently told Man About Town magazine that he and his wife have worked hard to teach their children good manners.
"Victoria and I were brought up with strong discipline by our parents and to have respect for people and our boys have definitely got that," he said. "They've been saying their please and thank-yous since they were two or three years old. They're very polite boys."
David also shared why he loves being the father of three sons and a daughter. "I always wanted kids I could take to work, and for them to experience the things I experience. So, having three boys as a footballer was a dream," he explained. "And now to have a little girl who just lightens up my day every time I see or I speak to her . . . My children are my life."
