David Copperfield is slamming a lawsuit filed by a 22-year-old Seattle woman who claims the magician sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

The allegations are "extortion for money, plain and simple," state Copperfield's lawyers, Angelo Calfo and Patty Eakes, in a statement.

The woman alleges in court papers filed on July 29 -- the two-year statute of limitations -- that the incident took place while she was a guest on his private island in the Bahamas. No criminal charges have been filed, according to the Associated Press.
