Love conquers all! That’s especially true for Demi Lovato, whose new addition to her family has already won the star over. On Monday, April 25, Demi introduced her new Sphynx cat, Hairy-Ette, to her fans via Snapchat.
“Hey world, say ‘hi’ to Hairy-Ette,” she gushed in a video, as the furless feline played with the 23-year-old’s hand.
The “Confident” singer shared a series of photos on Snapchat of her new “baby,” including pics of herself hugging the cat that featured captions reading, “already in love with each other” and “I [heart] Hairy-Ette.” One photo even showed Lovato’s adorable black pup, Batman, bonding with his new fur-sibling.
Though the bonding may seem like a joyous event, it took a turn for the worse when Lovato realized that despite Hairy-Ette being hairless, the “Cool for the Summer” singer is still allergic to her. The former X-Factor judge captioned one snap of herself cuddling cheek-to-cheek with the wrinkly feline, “As my face is swelling…”
The pop star also shared a video of herself gently resting her chin on her new pet and then suddenly sneezing and tearing up. “Sorry, baby,” Lovato apologized. “I honestly thought I wouldn’t be allergic to a hairless cat… I’m so bummed,” she tweeted Monday.
Despite her apparent allergies to the cute little feline, Lovato later shared another snapchat of herself and her new pet snuggled together. “So allergic it’s not even funny but I’m keeping her cause zero f–ks,” she wrote.
For Lovato’s 23rd birthday last August, she introduced her fans to her furry friend, Batman, after her dog Buddy — which she shared with longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama — died suddenly.
