DJ AM's Sister Lara Long Dies at 40

More sad news for DJ AM's family.
Less than two years after the death of her kid brother, Lara Long passed away on May 9.
Jenni Weinman, a rep for the family, told TMZ, that Long, 40, succumbed to "a fierce four month battle with an extremely rare colon cancer." Her younger brother DJ AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) died on August 28, 2009 from an apparent drug overdose.

"Lara was responsible for keeping the memory of her brother alive with the creation of the DJ AM Memorial Fund," Weinman added. "She was the driving force behind his eBay shoe sale as well as his record sales, working tirelessly to make sure he would not be forgotten." (The DJ AM Memorial Fund strives to help those struggling with addiction.)

"Laura was an amazing woman, with a huge personality, a heart of gold and an incredible laugh," Weinman told the site. "There are no words to explain how she will be missed."
