Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Election Day that the race for the White House would be a “waste of time” if he were to lose to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
“If I don’t win, I will consider it a tremendous waste of time, energy and money,” Trump said on Fox News’ Fox & Friends during a phone interview on Tuesday, November 8. “I will have spent over $100 million on my own campaign.”
The real estate mogul, 70, then claimed that the polls showing Clinton, 69, leading the race are “purposefully wrong.”
“The media is very dishonest, extremely dishonest,” he said. “And I think a lot of the polls are phony. I don’t even think they interview people. I think they just put out phony numbers.”

Meanwhile, Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, where he said his father would concede the presidential race should he lose — but under one condition.
“If he loses, and it’s legit and fair, and there’s not obvious stuff out there without question, yes, [he would concede],” the 38-year-old businessman said.
This isn’t the first time Donald said his campaign would be a “waste of time, energy and money” this year. Back in May, he made the same statement during an interview with Megyn Kelly.
“If I don’t go all the way, and if I don’t win, I will consider it to be a total and complete waste of time, energy and money,” he said.
The former Celebrity Apprentice host also described the race as a zero-sum game on Monday, November 7, during a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“If we don’t win, I will consider this the single greatest waste of time, energy and money,” he said once again. “Go vote because, believe me, if we don’t win, all of us, honestly, we’ve wasted our time. They may say good things about us as a movement. It won’t mean a damn thing.”
“To make every dream you’ve ever dreamed for your country and your family to come true, you have one magnificent chance,” Donald continued on Monday. “There has never been a movement like this. It’s not going to happen again.”
