Today is going to be HUGE for him! Donald Trump is celebrating his 70th birthday on Tuesday, June 14.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee appears to be all business on his birthday, however. On Tuesday, he took to Twitter on a more serious note to address the mass shooting in Orlando.
"American[s] must now get very tough, very smart and very vigilant. We cannot admit people into our country without extraordinary screening," he wrote to his more than 9 million followers. "Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary [Clinton] brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs."
Trump received backlash for his previous comments on the matter. On Sunday, he wrote an insensitive tweet suggesting that he was to thank for bringing up the idea that the tragedy stemmed from radical Islamic terrorism. He later apologized during an interview on the Today show.
Trump might not be in the celebratory mood (yet), but others are. According to Fox News, the right-wing political group Hindu Sena threw a birthday party in India in his honor. The festivities included decorations, balloons, party hats and a cake.
The business mogul will surely be making more headlines long after he turns the big 7-0. The former Celebrity Apprentice host will continue to fight for the presidency against presumptive Democratic nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who made history last week when she became the first woman to clinch the presidential nomination for a major party.
