Green Mile's Doug Hutchison took a stroll through Los Angeles on Sunday with his wife, Courtney Stodden, and his mother-in-law, Krista Stodden. Hutchison, 51, and Courtney, 16, came under fire for their 35-year-age difference when they married in May, but it was Courtney's parents who gave permission for their daughter to say "I do."

Hutchison, who met Courtney online and developed a virtual relationship with her before discovering that she was a minor, wanted the aspiring singer-actress' parents' blessing. "I said [that] if you and [Courtney's father] have any misgivings whatsoever about this, if you are uncomfortable with it, I will respect you, and Courtney will respect you, and we will step back," he said in an interview with Good Morning America earlier this month.
Courtney's mother and father Alex, 47, trusted their daughter's judgment and ultimately gave parental consent so that she could legally marry her much-older beau. It was actually Krista who first suggested the duo get married in a state that would allow it.

But not everyone was as accepting as Courtney's mom of this May-December romance. Hutchison's agent and manager dropped him, and his own mother cut ties with him. "We knew this was gonna happen," he said. "We knew we were gonna have to weather the repercussions of our decision and our union. This is just the beginning. It brought us closer together."

After reading an interview with the 16 year old she was more into the marrying an actor and how cool is that. Seems the parents like that the daughter was getting it on with an actor. So he found a minor whose parents didn't care that their 15/16 year old as going to be getting it on with a man who was older than they were BECAUSE he is an actor. I hope they have no more daughters to sell or pimp out at home. The girl looks like a tramp and he seems to like that trashy look.
Well, the whole marriage doesn't surprise me now that I see what kind of clothing her mother lets her walk around in....I would NEVER let any 16 year old daughter of mine wear a mini dress and stripper heels out in public.

My first husband was 12 yrs older then me. I was 17 and he was 30. We married in 1979. We lived in Texas at the time. Back then Texas law, I could live on my own at 16, which I did sharing an apartment with two other girl's. But to get married my dad had to give consent, which he finally did. As for this freak show. They are using each other. Shes using him as a cash cow and hoping to break into show business, with her looks the only ppl that will end up calling will most likely be the "PORN INDUSTRY". Also when his bank acct dries up from not working because he married this girl, then will really see if it's true love, when he can't shower her with gift's anymore.Also the more I look at these two. It is DISGUSTING what some people will do for fame. you dont think she is 16 until you hear her speak. She is not mature by any means. She acts like your typical teenager. The only thing that is mature is her body not her personality. She doesn't know anything about herself, or life at 16. Nothing.

I don't condone pedophiles or any type of coerced or forced sexual arrangements. With that said, let's not forget that childhood is actually a fairly recent concept. A mere 70 or so years ago teenagers as young as 14 years old are already planning families but then the life expectancy was a lot less. Maturity is a state of mind and cannot be simply defined by age. How many "adults" that you know are immature? If they are happy with their decisions and live a happy life who are we to judge?

Been there done that....I was 25 yrs older than my hubby. Me..46 Him...21. We had lots in common..then he turned 35 and I will turn 60 soon...and he just left me for someone younger. It was fun while it lasted...which was 14 yrs....But being old and alone not so great. IT WONT WORK ....UNLESS YOUR FILTHY RICH...and I am not.
