Drake’s Tour Bus Burgled, $3 Million in Jewelry Stolen

Update 8:54 p.m. ET: The Associated Press reports that Phoenix police have recovered the jewelry. Sgt. Vince Lewis said that suspect Travion King was identified through surveillance video, and law enforcement then learned he was already in jail. King was arrested earlier in the day by Arizona State University’s campus police, the AP reports.

Update 8:14 p.m. ET: According to TMZ, a man named Travion King was arrested at Arizona State University on Wednesday, September 7. King was reportedly caught with the briefcase in hand and has been booked for felony burglary.

A briefcase containing $3 million worth of jewelry was stolen off of Drake and Future’s Summer Sixteen tour bus on Tuesday, September 6, Phoenix police spokesman Sergeant Vince Lewis has confirmed.

According to the Associated Press, the briefcase was taken from the bus between 10 and 10:15 p.m. while the vehicle was parked at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, where the rappers were performing.

In footage obtained by TMZ, Drake is visibly upset upon learning about the theft. According to Sgt. Lewis, the briefcase did not belong to Drake.

Authorities told TMZ that the property reportedly belonged to Drake’s DJ, Future the Prince, not Future the rapper.
