The couple got engaged almost a year ago during a December trip to New York City. The Harding University college student popped the question on a bridge in Central Park at sunset with a very special diamond sparkler. The 3.01-carat diamond was a family heirloom that belonged to his new fiancée, and the couple designed the unique setting together and had it made in Nashville. But Brighton didn’t see the finished product until it was placed on her finger.

“I couldn’t be more excited to marry this amazing woman. My fiancé is a babe in every way,” he captioned one sweet photo, of the proposal as viewed from his perspective.
