DWTS' Maksim Says He's Moving on From Karina

Five days after his split from Karina Smirnoff, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is already moving on.
"It's life," the Dancing With the Stars pro tells Entertainment Tonight. "You do your thing and then you move on."

"Thank God for this season because all my attention goes to Debi [Mazar]," he says of his celebrity partner on the show's upcoming season. "This is probably the most serious I've ever taken a season. In light of everything that's happened, this is what I want to focus all my attention on."
The professional dancers got engaged on New Year's Eve 2008 -- six months after Smirnoff, 31, split from Mario Lopez. They planned to wed next summer.

Smirnoff said she wasn't surprised at the attention after they announced they called off their engagement.
"It comes with the territory, being on the show that has become amazingly successful," she told ET in a separate interview. "Everything is in the public eye, but again, it is a private matter. It is a private relationship, and it should totally stay private."

Well, that didn't take long. I know what broke them up - that is IF they were really engaged. I bet Karina got rip roarin' mad when Maks kept staring at Wendy Williams' big boobs.
They are great dancers and I look forward to another season of DWTS, regardless of whether they are still together or not; and on that note, I wish them both luck in their careers, -I love to see them dance-, and in their personal lives. They will both eventually find the right persons for them.
This was so much a publicity stunt. They were never engaged. Convenient it ended just before the season started. Now we are supposed to tune in to see if there's any tension on the dance floor. Please.

I think that she rushed into things too soon to heal her broken heart. I think her true love was Mario Lopez. Perhaps now she will be happy just being on her own for awhile and be content to wait for the right person.
They both seem to be dynamic,fiery, hard edged people, with big egos. Maybe they're too much alike, and Karina needs someone who's strong, but mellow to balance her out. He, on the other hand, is rude. It was terrible the way he criticized the female dancer's bodies.

Just like everyone who writes on this and other blogs, but unlike those who judge you or Karina so harshly AS IF THEY KNEW YOU, WHICH THEY DON'T, I wish Maksim and Karina good luck in their careers; they are terrific dancers, and I wish them better luck in love. They both seem to be very nice people and like everyone else, deserve to be happy and find their soulmates.
Are you kidding me? Karina is a user and jumps into the sac with someone new every few months. Good for you Max, say goodbye before you make a BIG mistake.
Hmm. Maksim is a delicious man, so far as I see. Ego goes with the territory . . . he'll get it as he becomes older. . . and will still be good-looking. Just a lot of testosterone . . . nice to see.
Maksim is a douchebag. I hope Karina can find someone with a little more tact and class in the future.
