Cue the wedding bells! Dancing With the Stars pro Mark Ballas is set to wed his songwriter fiancée BC Jean on Friday, November 25, Us Weekly can confirm.
Ballas, who didn’t compete on season 23 of DWTS due to his current run as Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Jersey Boys, proposed to the singer/songwriter the day before Thanksgiving last year. “They have been keeping their exciting news on the down-low as they wanted to celebrate and enjoy the holidays with close friends and family,” the source told Us in January 2016 after Jean stepped out with her engagement ring.
The longtime couple met in 2012 when they both were slated to perform at a singer/songwriter livestream event. Shortly after, they started dating and created their band Alexander Jean. Jean is best known for penning tracks such as Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy.”
The engaged couple are already familiar with weddings — they performed their song “Roses and Violets” at the June 2015 nuptials of Duck Dynasty stars John Luke Robertson and Mary Kate McEacharn. And, they have their big day all under control —in a recent interview with Us, Ballas dished about planning with his wife-to-be.
“We tasted cake the other day. I was like, ‘Wow! This is a thing!’ We tried ten cakes and we were heavily into it and by the sixth one we were like … the bites were getting smaller and smaller and then of course we chose the first one we tried!” Ballas told Us while laughing. “The first two months I was like, ‘Wow, this is overwhelming.’ … But it’s been really cool.”
Congrats!
