Date, saved! Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's Save the Date video for their upcoming wedding leaked online this week, and it is absolutely adorable.
The 47-second clip not only tells guests to arrange travel plans to Miami for Aug. 30, but also includes Wade's elaborate proposal to the Think Like a Man Too actress. The NBA superstar proposed to Union with an 8.5-carat diamond ring back in December of last year, and from the video footage, it appears that he used his sons Zaire and Zion (with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches) to help out with the elaborate plan.
Wade's sons and one other unidentified kid hold up signs which read "Nickie / Will You / Marry Us?" The rest of the video shows the moment when Union agreed to marry her longtime beau, which was followed by hugs and kisses from her new fiance and his kids. At the end of the clip, the little ones each hold a sign which reads "Save / The / Date."
"I was completely surprised,” Union, 41, told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan in January of his proposal. "Him and the boys planned it completely, as a family... We were just gonna spend the day together, have a little quality time, went to brunch, I [was] clueless."
She joked of how she thought it was just the boys being silly when they held up the signs, but realized Wade was proposing when he was down one knee. "He was like, 'Will you marry us?' And I was like, 'Oh, you're serious!'"
While their engagement news was a happy celebratory time for the couple, it was overshadowed by the revelation that Wade had fathered a love child while he was on a break from Union. "I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," Wade, 32, said in a press conference on Dec. 30.
With the drama behind them, Wade and Union are now focusing on their big day. "We’re pretty deep," Union told Us Weekly in June of the planning process. "And by we, I mean he and the wedding planner… He really Kanye’d himself and really doubled down, and it's his princess day and I'm just along for the ride."
