If only Buffy and Faith had been on the case! Eliza Dushku did not enjoy the “trick” part of Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31, when she was allegedly robbed at the Omni Hotel where she was staying for the Rhode Island Comic Con.
“Was just robbed in front of my hotel a few hrs ago. Cameras caught everything:hotel/police/security weren’t able to do anything. #ricomiccon,” the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum, 33, tweeted on Friday evening.
She continued to update her 1.6 million followers on the status of her stolen bag, which was a Louis Vuitton duffle bag that had a very special meaning to the actress.
“If you see anyone walk out of hotel w this Duffle bag, it was a gift from @MrsSOsbourne ON her show in ’04. It’s been around the world w me,” she explained.
The worst part of the altercation was the fact that Dushku was then forced to stay in the same hotel as her robbers.
“Really upset. It’s been a long night. The 2 men are in my hotel currently & ‘nothing can be done,'” she wrote. “They were, of course, wearing Halloween costumes. One of the guys wore a GOLD HEAD TO TOE ‘Ceasar’ outfit. Anyone in RI, ring a bell.? Help. They’re here. In hotel. Why I can’t sleep. Possibly just right down the hall.Distressing. I want them found. Release pics/videos @OmniHotels.”
Fortunately, the story had a happy ending when the men were identified and Dushku’s luggage was returned.
“Update:men found in hotel, w/my luggage, apprehended & spending wknd in jail until+. U guys helped this happen. I am VERY grateful. C u soon,” the Jane Wants a Boyfriend actress tweeted.
To prove she was the one tweeting out the messages, Dushku shared a selfie at the hotel in her Halloween costume.
“Love you guys. Wasn’t hacked. This was me, tonight. No one else could take selfie. Real deal. Night,” she tweeted with the photo.
