The real Slim Shady stood back up. After a quiet few months, Eminem resurfaced in a new Twitter photo with Zane Lowe on Wednesday, June 24.
The New Zealand DJ, 41, shared the shot with the rapper, 42, to tease his new gig with Apple Music. News broke in February that after years on BBC Radio 1, Lowe had plans to leave the network for a job with Apple. He will return to the airwaves under the recently announced Apple Music streaming service.
"Next week - My first Interview on @beats1 @eminem," wrote Lowe, who will DJ for Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio.
Eminem looks healthy and focused in the photo with Lowe, leaning up against production equipment in a studio as he catches up with the interviewer. Back to his trademark shade of bleached blond, the rapper covers his slender shape in a hoodie and a jacket.
The Grammy winner has stayed largely out of the public eye as of late, making headlines last fall when he made a rare appearance and looked noticeably thinner. While some fans worried that the star was ill, sources told Us Weekly that the Detroit native has simply been focusing on his health.
"He jogs and eats well," an insider said of Eminem. "He's healthy and happy!"
The performer, whose daughter Hailie graduated from high school last year, has dialed down his recording career in recent years, releasing his last studio album of new music, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, in 2013. Eminem is, however, still working in music as he is currently serving as the executive producer for the soundtrack to the upcoming Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams movie, Southpaw.
