The feud lives on. Matt Damon appeared on stage during the 2016 Emmys on Sunday, September 18, to hilariously mock host (and his buddy) Jimmy Kimmel’s Emmy loss. The late-night host, who emceed the show, lost the award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series to Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.
“I missed the last category. Did you win?” Damon asked Kimmel after he appeared on stage while chomping on an apple, à la Brad Pitt.
“That’s a bummer,” Damon added after Kimmel informed him that Oliver took home the award. “It makes a lot of sense, but you must be really bummed out.”
“Yeah, I’m a little disappointed. Thank you,” Kimmel sarcastically said, before Damon joked about his earlier peanut butter and jelly packed lunches bit.
“Oh, hey, Jimmy, tell your mom I like dem apples,” the Oscar winner said while exiting the stage.
“Good one,” Kimmel quipped. “Let’s take a commercial — I need to go throw up.”
Before the Jason Bourne actor graced the stage, Kimmel enlisted the help of his mom to make sandwiches for the A-listers in the audience. The funnyman then had the cast of Stranger Things hand out bagged lunches to the audience, which included juice boxes and apples.
