Awkward much? Flip or Flop stars Christina and Tarek El Moussa were spotted grabbing coffee together and sharing a tentative hug after their brief reunion in Newport Beach, California, on Thursday, December 15.
In a video shared by TMZ, the estranged exes stroll into Starbucks, and as they’re about to part ways, give each other a half-hearted, pseudo side hug before ducking into their separate cars.
As Us reported earlier this week, Christina, 33, and Tarek, 35, have been living apart since May and have already been dating other people since their separation. In a report released on Thursday, December 15, it was speculated that Christina has been dating the family contractor, Gary Anderson, who also happened to witness Tarek’s gun incident in May.
“We have both dated other people following the separation, but neither of us is ready to announce anything in terms of another relationship,” the pair said in a joint statement to People magazine on Wednesday, December 14. The HGTV stars, who share two young children — daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 15 months — plan to continue working together for their show.
“Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage,” the former couple told Us in a statement on Monday, December 12. “During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”
The real estate agents decided to take a break from their seven-year relationship in May after a scary incident at their Orange County, California, home, in which 11 deputies were called to their residence to deal with “a possibly suicidal male with a gun.”
An eyewitness told police that he saw Tarek “run out of his back door, jump over his back fence and walk northbound into the hiking trails of the Chino Hills State Park.” Tarek later clarified to authorities that he “had no intention of hurting himself” and had only grabbed the gun “for safety because of mountain lions and rattlesnakes in the area.”
