The HGTV star, 33, is reportedly dating the family contractor, Gary Anderson, who also happened to witness Tarek’s gun incident in May. Per the website, Anderson had previously done work for the El Moussas, but things turned romantic a few months after the gun scare.

Christina and Tarek, who announced their separation in a statement on December 12, revealed in a separate statement that they’re already dating other people. “We have both dated other people following the separation, but neither of us is ready to announce anything in terms of another relationship,” the statement, via People magazine, said.

As previously reported, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department told Us that law enforcement officers responded to a call about a “possible suicidal male with a gun” at the real estate agents’ home on May 23. At the scene, one officer “made contact with a witness, Gary Anderson, who relayed that he was working at the house next door when we saw Tarek El Moussa run out of his back door, jump over his back fence and walk northbound into the hiking trails of the Chino Hills State Park.” Christina ran back into the home “crying and shaking.” Christina’s friend, who was at the home during the incident, later told police that she saw Tarek take a handgun from his safe, and he “seemed upset” before heading outside.

After police located Tarek, he stated that he didn’t intend to hurt himself and just wanted to “blow off some steam.” He explained that he took the gun “for safety because of mountain lions and rattlesnakes.” The reality star then agreed to relinquish all firearms in the home and officers took five guns from the safe.

Once news broke of their split and the gun incident earlier this week, the couple — who married in May 2009 — told Us Weekly in a statement, “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed. Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage. During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”
