Fox Apologizes to Jessica Simpson for Mocking Her Weight

Burger King and Fox have apologized for an Oct. 11 NFL Sunday skit that mocked Jessica Simpson's weight.

A rep for Fox tells Usmagazine.com in a statement: "Burger King Corp. did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp. approved it before it aired. Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended."
Burger King adds: "Burger King Corp. has a long-standing relationship with FOX Sports, as well as an extensive media partnership with the network. The specific content for this sketch involving Jessica Simpson was not developed or aired by BKC or any of its agencies."

In the minute-long clip, an animated version of Dallas Cowboys starter Marion Barber remarks, "Man, I still can't believe Tony [Romo] dated Jessica Simpson, even AFTER she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams!"
Tight end Jason Witten responds: "Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up big when it counts!"

How disgusting! Cruelty is what it is. And for a buck and sensationalism? Fox is on a roll. If it wasn't for their paychecks, most NFL players would never get close to someone like Jessica even if she wasn't a celebrity. Mean people stink.

If Burger King didn't approve it, how did it get on the air? Costs megabucks to put a advertisement on the air. Who paid? If an outside marketing group made this animation, then their name should be revealed. Burger King is not off the hook until they provide an answer.

Jessica Simpson is one of the most beautiful females in Hollywood or anywhere for that matter! Love her or hate her... it's still a fact... whether she is 100 lbs. or 190 lbs., she is still very attractive. I am a die-hard Cowboys fan... but after this, I am seriously reconsidering!!!!
