A French father tried to explain the Paris terrorist attacks to his young son — and the result was touching. The video was posted on the French news outlet Le Petit Journal’s Facebook page on Monday, Nov. 16, and has already received more than 14 million views.
In the clip, Angel Le tells his boy, Brandon Le, that they don’t have to move despite the tragedy.
“France is our home,” Angel says, via the Associated Press.
“But there’s bad guys, dad,” Brandon, who is in preschool, replies. “They have guns, they can shoot us because they are really mean, Daddy.”
“There’s bad guys everywhere,” Angel explains. “It’s okay, they might have guns but we have flowers.”
As previously reported, 129 people were killed following a series of attacks in Paris on Nov. 13. Mourners have since been placing flowers and candles at the Place de la Republique.
When Brandon also points out the candles, Angel explains: “It’s to remember the people who are gone yesterday.”
