This is all kinds of crazy! Not only is Gary Busey the most unexpected contestant to join Dancing With the Stars Season 21, but he made the announcement by riding into Jimmy Kimmel's studio on a white stallion!

The Lethal Weapon actor burst into Kimmel's studio on Tuesday, Sept. 1, in a glittering cowboy suit, as the show host announced that the 71-year-old actor would be the ninth official contestant for DWTS' much anticipated next season, which will debut on Monday, Sept. 14.

As he rode on his white horse (complete with its own red, sequin outfit), Busey raised his cowboy hat to audience members who went wild for the announcement.

"I am so proud to be here with you announcing this incredible mile changing thing," the actor, clad in sparkles, said.

"And Gary, may I say that we are honored that you've agreed to be part of Dancing With the Stars," Kimmel replied. "What made you decide to do it this time around?

"I didn't have anything else to do!" Busey quipped, before going on a ride around the studio set on his impressive steed.

Having circled Kimmel, he came to a stop in front of the audience. "Listen everybody, please pick up your telephones and vote for me," he pleaded, before leaving the set as quickly as he'd arrived!

While the latest DWTS contestant announcement is surprising, both for its content and manner in which it was made, Busey's no stranger to reality TV.

In 2014 he won the 14th season of Celebrity Big Brother, and he has appeared on Celebrity Apprentice twice.

As Us Weekly reported previously, Busey will join a host of other stars including Nick Carter, Bindi Irwin, Paula Deen and Chaka Khan in the Season 21 lineup.
