A trip to North America! Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be joining their parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate, on a tour of Canada next month, Us Weekly can confirm.
“There will be parts of the itinerary designed to include the children,” a source tells Us of the royal family’s plans. “The climate will be comfortable and a lot of outdoor activities will be part of the trip.”
The family of four — plus nanny Maria, hairstylist Amanda Cook Tucker and several more members of the royals’ team — are scheduled to take a first-class commercial flight, not a private jet, to Vancouver in late September, where they will stay for approximately a week, according to the insider.
During their stay, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s adorable children will enjoy “plenty of outdoor moments and visits to endangered places of nature,” a source says. While George, 3, previously accompanied his parents on a tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014, this will be 15-month-old Charlotte's first overseas trip.
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau is also expected to meet with the family during their stay.
“The Duke and Duchess are delighted to be returning to Canada,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson tells Us. “They hold very happy memories from their visit in 2011 — their first overseas tour as a married couple. They are really looking forward to seeing other parts of this beautiful country and having the opportunity to meet many more Canadians along the way.”
Governor General of Canada David Johnston adds, “[My wife] Sharon and I will be delighted to welcome Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Canada. Their royal tour will take them to the beautiful province of British Columbia and the scenic territory of Yukon. Once again, our true Canadian pride and spirit will shine and be at the very heart of this visit so they can feel at home.”
Earlier this year, the royal couple traveled across India during a weeklong tour, although they admitted to missing George and Charlotte.
