George Clooney to the rescue! The new trailer for the upcoming sci-fi adventure flick Tomorrowland is finally here, and it features a heroic Clooney in the starring role.
The Oscar winner, 53, plays Frank Walker, a veteran inventor with some powerful enemies, in the highly anticipated Disney feature. Frank is forced to face off against said foes in the latest preview, and teams up with an unexpected sidekick for the challenge.
In the new teaser, Frank meets a young woman named Casey Newton, played by The Longest Ride‘s Britt Robertson. Casey finds a magical pin and when she grasps it, is transported from the wheat fields of nowhere to the futuristic Tomorrowland.
Attempting to understand just what she saw, Casey makes her way to Frank’s secluded home. She presents the pin to the reclusive scientist, who soon faces danger as a band of armed soldiers descend upon his home. An epic battle scene ensues, with Frank and Casey taking on the army with some impressive high-tech weapons.
Due out on May 22, Tomorrowland also features Judy Greer, Hugh Laurie, Kathryn Hahn, and Tim McGraw, among others. Baring the same name as the Disney theme park attraction, the movie is Clooney’s first since 2014’s The Monuments Men, and is helmed by Brad Bird (Ratatouille).
