George Clooney's Girlfriend Targeted in Cocaine Scandal

George Clooney's girlfriend, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, is being investigated after a witness says she saw Canalis snorting cocaine at a Milan nightclub in 2007.
According to 26-year-old model-turned-prostitute Karima Menad, Clooney's girlfriend took the drug twice while partying at The Club, which is currently under investigation.
"I remember taking cocaine with Elisabetta Canalis and two others," Menad told prosecutors in 2008 in documents obtained by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
At the time Canalis, 31, was not yet romantically involved with Clooney; she began dating the actor in 2009.
"We were in The Club and it was December 2007," Menad continued. "We had been at a party of some famous, rich celebrity whose name I cannot remember. I don't remember who brought the drugs but we all took it."
Menad's testimony emerged after prosecutor Frank Di Maio used it as part of his official request to have the owners of The Club held in custody as the inquiry continued.
Another famous Milan hotspot, Hollywood, is also under investigation after patrons were secretly filmed using drugs in the restrooms.
According to RadarOnline, Menad's testimony allowed prosecutors to seize and shut down the nightclubs on July 26 and put five of the main offenders under house arrest.
Women were previously brought into the nightclubs to entertain customers at the private tables, Radar reports.

"Their job was to encourage these customers to drink alcohol as to increase the table's bill, followed up by sex off premises," Di Maio stated in the documents. "They were often given cocaine for free by those who want to sit at a table of famous people…they want the visibility that comes from being seated at a central table, and to be seen with models, or celebrities from fashion, entertainment and sport."
Canalis and her agent could not be reached for comment.

and as for the hook er who named her saying she doesn't remember the celebrity's name who they were partying with, I am sure that she does, it is just not released at this time probably because he is famous. canalis doesn't rate that kind of protection, being a d-lister and a non-entity, despite what her pr people say about her being famous and rich in italy.
this testimony was given in january 2008 about a party in december 2007. it was recently released because they gathered enough evidence to place some under house arrest. her name is recognizable because she is now dating a movie star, but it is NOT the reason she was named. she was there and it is under investigation whether she participated in the prostitution scam ring they had going on there. there are video tapes (allegedly) of the illegal drug use, which if she is viewed doing anything illegal CAN lead to her being prosecuted. more evidence is supposed to come out and we will see if she is innocent or guilty of being a call girl. but right now she is allegedly a drug user and although no one cares, it is an illegal substance and part of a network used to lure "clients" into spending large amounts of cash on drinks and drugs and then when high, they were approached by hook ers for sex. her name was mentioned by someone who was there and they have to investigate it. i have read about similar scams run by the russians. and other lower forms of life. the fact that her name was even mentioned reflects her questionable morality and sleaziness. but lots of folks could have told you that about her!!

Canalis was obviously high at all of the red carpet events she went to this past year including the GGs and the Oscars, and a lot of people observed this and commented on it at the time. If George ever did coke, it was decades ago. He's has been looking stressed out this past year, due to Canalis. The sooner he cuts ties with her the better.

Don't think we should beat up on this woman, but certainly don't think anyone should minimize drug usage. Some start out using recreationally & then have developed a full blown habit. Not good.

Italian blogs have said for a long time that she's a known coke addict in Italy. She looked high at every event I saw her at this past year. I don't feel a bit sorry for her, as she has continually made the same choices over and over again, always taking the easy way out.
