Officers arrived on the scene at 2:17 a.m. in response to a radio call and saw Hong's body, officer Aareon Jefferson tells Us. The victim, an L.A. resident, died of blunt force trauma in an apparent homicide. Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect fleeing, and police say he is still at large.

Stroumboulopoulos, 44, expressed his grief on Twitter later that day. "I only have a few details, but it seems like it was the result of a break-in," he tweeted. "The victim was a dear friend of mine who was staying at my place while I was away. I am heartbroken."
