Gia Giudice is staying strong for her family. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star gave an update about her mom Teresa Giudice in a new interview with Access Hollywood on Thursday, Jan. 22. In prison since Jan. 5, Teresa stays in touch with her loved ones as much as she can.
“We can talk to her daily and we have access to emailing her whenever we want. It definitely helps with coping [and] with missing her,” Gia, 14, said. “She always just said to me, ‘Stay strong for mommy. You’ll see me soon.'”
Us broke news earlier this week that Teresa, 42, received her first visit from Gia, daughters Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, Audriana, 5, and husband Joe Giudice, 42, this past weekend.
“She’s doing amazing. I knew it was coming,” Gia told Access Hollywood. “My sisters are okay. They obviously miss her dearly, but they’re doing okay.”
She added of Joe: “My dad has been amazing. He’s honestly the rock. He’s helping us so much.”
Teresa’s incarceration has proved to be an adjustment for the family, but, luckily, Gia has found a way to express how she’s feeling through music. Specifically, in her new song “Just 13.”
“My voice teacher and I sat down and we just basically like poured out our thoughts. It was really just a song based on my experience and what I’m going through, and it was really just me and her like really writing it out and just expressing ourselves,” the 3KT singer said. “I just want [my fans] to know that I’m okay, but also give them a little input of what I’m going through.”
As previously reported, Teresa will be released from prison early, before next Christmas. After she returns home, Joe will begin his 41-month sentence.
