Busy schedules are to blame! Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson have split for the second time, the model’s rep confirms to Us Weekly.
“Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career,” Hadid’s rep tells Us in a statement. “They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future. They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other’s biggest supporters.”
An insider adds to Us: “They are hardly ever in the same city anymore and he’s entirely West Coast based now while she is everywhere.” (Us broke news this week that Gigi’s younger model sister Bella, 18, is now dating R&B singer The Weeknd.)
The Aussie pop star recently opened up to Us about Hadid — and how they made their relationship work — following his 18th birthday bash. “She’s from Malibu so she comes home a lot and I’m always out there. I stay with her. And the place I write all my music is across the street from her house. It makes it pretty easy,” he said back in January. “She lives in NYC most of the time but we make it work and travel a lot. It gets a little frustrating because you never know when either of us are going to have to be overseas for a month or something.”

The pair previously went their separate ways after one year of dating in May 2014. Six months later, they gave their relationship another try. After the first breakup, Hadid, 20, explained to Us that they split because of their “crazy” schedules.
“We are just trying to balance it and make time when we can,” she told Us at the 2014 American Music Awards. “So far it’s working out.”

Simpson added to Us in January: “The craziest thing about love is you never really understand it. I don’t know why she gave me another chance when a lot of girls wouldn’t have. I’m just grateful and very, very happy.”
The Dutch model and Simpson were recently spotted together last month at Coachella in Indio, Calif., with Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Justin Bieber, and more. Hadid also attended the Met Gala in NYC on May 4.
