The Good Morning America star did, in the end, manage to perform both her dances on the exciting episode, with her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and broke down in tears at the end of her second performance, when she was awarded full marks for her effort.

Talking to Us after the show, Zee revealed she was still feeling pain from her back and pelvis injuries, but she was just delighted that she had managed to perform in the end.

“On Thursday there was definitely a point where the physical therapist said, ‘Stop. You can’t dance like this anymore.’ And so I didn’t know how that was going to play out, I didn’t know what was going to happen,” she said.

“The next day, I felt a little better but she said, ‘Don’t do any of this stuff.’ So I hadn’t done any of my dances full out and all the way through until today. So that was so scary!” she added, laughing.

But while Zee was worrying she might not make the finale, she had the full support of her husband, Ben Aaron, who not only was encouraging her in her recovery, but was also left literally holding the baby.

“He’s been the best. He’s been taking care of [the baby] so well because I haven’t even been able to hold him,” Zee revealed. “The physical therapist said not to hold him on each side but my husband has made sure the baby’s doing great and that makes me feel great,” she added.

Find out whether Zee’s efforts were enough to win her the coveted Mirrorball Trophy when the Dancing With the Stars‘ season 22 finale airs tonight, Tuesday, May 24, at 9 p.m. ET.
