Glee's Jane Lynch is, well, gleeful about her engagement to girlfriend Lara Embry.
"I've been engaged now since probably November," Lynch, 49, told UsMagazine.com during Monday's Glee spring premiere party at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. (Over the weekend, the actress confirmed to Us that recent engagement reports were "true.")

"I love it, and I can't wait for her to move out here, so we can start a home together," Lynch cooed to Us of Embry, who's a psychologist.

Flashing her ring on the red carpet, the star added, "I'm thrilled! It's an amazing thing. I wake up and pinch myself every morning!"

While a January report in the New York Times Carpetbagger blog suggested a wedding date in May, Lynch clarified, "No wedding planning at this point. We just put a ring on it."
Glee's spring season begins Tuesday, in which the cast covers Madonna's songbook.

Tell Us What You Think
15I would like to thank all those who are taking the time to share God's Law. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, you sternly remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. .. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them: .. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? .. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? .. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense. .. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? .. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? .. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? .. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? .. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die? .. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? .. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) .. .. I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
What about hermaphrodites? How will yall judge them? They were born that way. So with both sex organs no matter who they "lay" with they are sinning? I dont think so. The Bible is a great book, keep reading it. But until you are sleeping with someone of the same sex then dont worry about others that do. Nothing you can do will change it and you just might be missing out on some of the best friends you will ever have. And NO i'm not a lesbian.
Kelly said... "This 'To:Caroline' person also very carefully quotes only Old Testament, and not New Testament." Kelly, check your Bible: Romans and Corinthians are both in the New Testament. You pointed out that the Bible says don't judge others. That is fine. We don't have to judge others to proclaim that some things are evil. Some people (like Jane Lynch) are tempted to this particular evil, that does not mean SHE is evil. So Christians don't judge her: we try to save her from temptation, which leads to sin and death.
Congratulations, Jane! And shut up to all the nasty bigoted haters on this board.
Caroline, REAL CHRISTIANS also love people unconditionally and want for the happiness of others. This fearmonger sounds like a psychopath.
There is a little line in the bible that says to "judge not, lest you be judged" as well. This "To:Caroline" person also very carefully quotes only Old Testament, and not New Testament, which teaches us to love one another and be tolerant of each other. This :To:Caroline" person is the one who should be wary of God's judgement against them for not being tolerant and loving to their fellow man. I pity such narrow-minded, hate-filled people. I will pray for YOUR soul, and also pray that you learn to stop twisting the words of the Bible to meet your own twisted, hate-filled agenda. Oh and for the record, I'm middle-aged, Christian, and straight. However, I choose to follow the path of Jesus, who loved everyone, and did not pass judgement on them.
Olivia and whoever was writing To: Caroline...since when is the Bible the word of God? Let me tell you what the bible was...it was a bunch of dudes from a really long time ago, sitting around a table, writing a book that they called the words of God. Maybe God exists, maybe he doesn't, but if there is a benevolent, all-knowing man in the sky, I will bet my life on the fact that he doesn't give a **** what your sexual orientation is. I am absolutely sick of and sickened by people attempting to use the Bible to excuse their inability to simply be accepting of others. This is the 21st century, and in this day and age, provided no one is being harmed, we should be tolerant for one another whether or not we agree with their life choices. That said...Go Glee! Jane Lynch is the bomb.
Gay relationships are not what I call real love. They are nothing more than friends. It's like 2 best girlfriend buddies who want to romm together for the rest of their lives. Can you picture two women getting physically intimate? It's downright sickening. Go find a man and be normal. Enough with these immoral lesbians. I don't hate the person but I find this perversion unacceptable.
This woman is HILARIOUS. Maybe not so much on Glee all the time, but she's in a ton of movies - I think she's great. Congrats Jane!
Alright, I'm not being a hater. If you've read any of my other comments, I try not to hate. Some people have written in the comments that in the Bible it says something about same-sex marriage being unholy. Where is that? I'm sort of split right now on wether I support same-sex marriage or not. Does anyone out there know? can you tell me?
Eeeeeuuuuu. Who is this? She looks super annoying like.... Ellen.
Aww, that's so nice!
She should punch herself every morning.....d@mn dike!
you go, Ms. Jane! I am happy for you. You are a doll...I hope that you win a Emmy this September or when the award show comes on...rock on! And, that is how Ms. T see's it!!
I admit I don't know much about same-sex couples getting engaged but how do they decide which one gets a ring? Or do they both get one? I swear I'm not homophobic, just curious.
