Sue Sylvester's mini-me is no bully!
In fact, Glee's Lauren Potter (who plays Becky Jackson) is a Best Buddy. On Saturday, the 21-year-old actress participated in the 12th annual Audi Best Buddies Challenge: a charity walk, run and ride in Hyannis, Mass. to benefit Best Buddies International.
Best Buddies is a nonprofit founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver (Maria Shriver's brother) that's dedicated to creating opportunities for friendships and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
NFL star Tom Brady came out in support of the event and was impressed with the organization. "What strikes me most about Best Buddies is the simplicity — and magnitude — of the mission," he said in a statement. "Friendship is a simple idea. Connecting people who may not normally be friends and changing the way people think about individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities – that's huge."
Potter, who has Down syndrome, told Us Weekly: "I had a great and wonderful time with my Best Buddy, Anthony, and the other people at the Challenge. It was really amazing, and I loved participating with the Best Buddies gang! I think that if you believe in yourself you can do anything, and Best Buddies can help you to achieve even more."
