After a rough, rough year for the eight Gosselin kids -- their parents Jon and Kate Gosselin will divorce imminently and their hit reality show is no more -- at least they can look forward to a visit from ol' Saint Nick come Dec. 25. Well, not exactly.

Happier times: flip through the Gosselin family album

"They don't believe in Santa Claus," a Gosselin pal reveals of 9 year-old twins Mady and Cara and 5 year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aeden, Collin, Leah and Joel. "Mady and Cara ruined it for the sextuplets," the source explains, "and told them a few years ago that Santa wasn't real, and that their presents come from Mommy and Daddy."

Sadly, the holiday anti-cheer has also spread to little ones outside the family's Wernersville, Penn. compound, the source reports: "The sextuplets are the ones at school who tell the other kids there's no Santa Claus."

Whether or not the eight kids leave out cookies for Santa, Christmas season has arrived at the Gosselin home: the transitioning brood has set up a twelve-foot tree, decorated with white lights and a big star on top, in the family room at the back of the house.

they spelt Aaden's name wrong, so if they can't get the names right why should I think this story holds any truth?

YES CARRIE THEIR IS A SANTA CLAUS. I AM SORRY U GREW UP HOMELESS, BUT YOU ABOVE ANYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO BELEIVE IN SOMETHING TO GET THRU. I WASN'T BORN WITH A LOT EITHER. BUT THE CHRISTMAS I REMEMBER MOST IS THE YEAR WE RECEIVE BIBLES AND A FEW SMALL TRINKETS. I THOUGHT SANTA WAS WONDERFUL. ALL THESE SPOILED KIDS KNOW IS IF IT IS NOT THE BEST, THEN WHAT IS THE REASON FOR IT. THANK THEIR MOTHER FOR THIS ONE. THE ACORN RARELY FALLS FAR FROM THE TREE. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE PLAYING SANTA TO 5 KIDS WHO WOULD OTHER WISE WOULD HAVE NOTHING THIS YEAR. AND I AM SURE THE 3 OLDEST DOESN'T BELIEVE. BUT WHO CARES. THE GOSSELIN KIDS NEED TO LEARN TO BE HUMBLE AND REALIZE LIFE ISN'T ALWAYS FREE. YES CARRIE THEIR IS A SANTA CLAUS. AND HE WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN

This is a really pathetic story. How dare the person say "mady and cara ruined it" My kids never believed in Santa. I grew up homeless and every year I didnt get a gift I thought it was because I was bad. I told my kids the idea of Santa started with St. Nicholos and that we should continue on with what he was trying to acheive by giving. Who cares what these kids believe as long as they are loved and they are. Get a better story.

@Tiffany, Every family is different, and if the older Gosselin girls did tell the twins there is not Sant Claus, big deal! I read on one blog how a group of Santa loving parents told their children to snub one child who had revealed Santa was not real. That was one of the meanest things I had ever read on the web, and shows how a lot of taunting begins in the home. Some people do not even grow up believe in Santa, so I suggest your learn more tolerance for other lifestyles.

Hi, since you referred to me by name, I thought I'd comment. Please forward this to Mady and Cara. My legal name is Santa Claus, and I'm a full-time volunteer advocate for the 2 million children in the U.S. annually who are abused, neglected, exploited, abandoned, homeless, and institutionalized through no fault of their own. I'm also a Christian Monk, as St. Nicholas was many centuries ago and believe that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ, not the crass, commercial, secular spectacle it has become in many places, and the the greatest gift one can give is love, not presents. I hope that your readers will visit TheSantaClausFoundation dot org and learn about the plight of these millions of vulnerable children in dire straits. Blessings to all, Santa Claus

    Thanks your Honor!

I taught first grade, and this is normal conversation amongst children. Please leave these innocent children alone. It is awful that you have stooped to such a low level that you are now degrading innocent children. Stop the nonsense.

SHAME ON YOU NOW YOUR STARTING ON THE GOSSELIN KIDS WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP

  • December 13, 2009 - 9:04pm cheryl

Who ever wasted there time writing this articel is a moron. Both of my kids were told by kids at school santa was not real. I cant believe the idiot writer of the article is personal attacking kids. You should feel like a complete ass. Leave the kids alone!

  • December 13, 2009 - 8:21pm sue

My children are 8.5 years apart in age and both of them found out that "santa is not real" at school. That happens everywhere, from NJ to California. There is always an older child or a few of them spreading the word to the little kids this time of year in every single school in America. This is no different.

  • December 13, 2009 - 6:10pm Tiffany

Well if there is in fact any truth to this story then shame on the parents for it all.If the twins told the others about santa not being real a couple of years ago they were too young to know then.that would have made the twins 7 and the others 4.Children who are told at a young age should be told to keep their mouths shut about it so the children that still believe can enjoy it and believe until their time.and please dont start the religous aspect of it either..my child know the religous side of christmas..that doesnt mean they cant believe in the magical side as well.I think that parents who tell their children about santa not being real at a young age are just lazy parents..they just dont want to keep up with the whole santa thing and rather drink eggnog and pass out on christmas eve then play santa...and hey all to their own but dont let your kids ruin in for your younger kids or for other peoples children!!!!

  • December 13, 2009 - 6:00pm AMO

    Janet, YOU'RE idiotic AND evil...

  • December 13, 2009 - 5:09pm Janet

Please! Kids aren't supposed to be idiotic enough to STILL believe in Santa Claus by age 5. In America, kids are bringing guns to school by Kindergarten! I expected trash publications such as PopEater to write a negative story about KIDS...but not US Magazine! I was wrong I guess..

  • December 13, 2009 - 4:59pm P. Day

You've finally sunk about as low as you can go for a story. Picking on 6 year olds. Who cares if they tell other kids that there is no Santa. Kids do that.

  • December 13, 2009 - 4:55pm MyTwoCents

I myself want LIE!!! MADY is a SPOILED BRAT and HER mother Kate is a MONEY HUNGRY MONSTER!! Now as for the little kids knowing there is no Santa--- It's MADY FALT!! She hates everyone of her brothers and sisters, but spoil their Christmas,I don't think so-- THE KIDS GET CHRISTMAS EVERYDAY--- LIKE MOST SPOILD KIDS DO TODAY!!!-- MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, and I HOPE FOR ALL US HATERS THAT TELL THE TRUTH A VERY,VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

  • December 13, 2009 - 4:50pm Alissa

Just what the world and the Gosselin kids need more of--another scathing opinion that rakes people and their views over the coals. How two faced US and this author are--one on hand the the article lines out fame**ore in reference to their parents and yet US is in the business of posting anything and everything about truth and lies about celebrityville!! And since when is the truth wrong!?!?! Martha Stewart have gone to prison for LYING. Afterall while Santa is a cute romantic holiday thought, the bottom line is it's a lie. If you believe in lying to your kids go for it. How bout our kids just believe in Santa like a cartoon--as MAKE BELIEVE--what a concept--but then so is giving people a break--what goes around comes around US and the author. I hope you don't make any mistakes in life!!

With a Bitc* Mommie Dearest, why should They feel good about anything?

  • December 13, 2009 - 1:18am barbee

I hear ya MyTwoCents, may God forgive me for my hateful heart too. What kind of person am I for bashing on an innocent little girl and hating on their mother. Some CHILD ADVOCATE I am, I failed my kids, and am a hypocrite but it makes me feel better about me to hate on Kate and on a little girl who cannot defend herself. I am a bully and teach my children to bully and hate, I am far from ever being a Mommy Figure, look what I teach to my own kids, YIKES.

  • December 13, 2009 - 1:16am MyTwoCents

I owe all of you an apology. For making a spectacle of myself on this comment board hating on Kate, making fun of her, and trashing little Mady. I am just a miserable old biddy who is on welfare and constipated from government cheese. My real issue is I am jealous of Kate and what all she can and does do for her children. Had I only gotten off my 2 ton can years ago to help support my children and give them more, instead I blame Kate because of my own failures as a mom with my children. God forgive me for my cynical and hateful heart and I apologize to all I offend on here.
