The fall seen around the world! Harry Styles made quite the splash on Twitter after he fell during a One Direction show in San Diego, Calif. on Thursday, July 9, sparking tons of memes and commentary by fans.
The 21-year-old singer was casually fist-pumping his way onstage during the show, the first on the band’s North American leg of their On the Road Again tour, when he suddenly tripped and fell in front of thousands of screaming fans.
In a Vine post that has been circulating the Internet, Styles can be seen wiping out backward while dragging his mic and mic stand with him. Elsewhere onstage, band members Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan burst into laughter.
The hashtag “OhNoHarry” soon surfaced on Twitter, with fans posting reaction shots and photoshopping the singer in various scenarios, including on a surfboard, dancing with a hat and full flamenco skirt, and sprouting butterfly wings.
This was the band’s first concert in the U.S. without fellow member Zayn Malik, who announced in March of this year that he would be leaving the group in order to live life as a “normal 22-year-old.”
