Hayden Panettiere takes a tumble! The Nashville star, 24, lost her footing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening, May 5.

Panettiere was walking down the red carpet stairs of the Met when she fell down, looking ever the damsel in distress in her voluminous ball gown.

The former child star donned a dreamy light blue and pink strapless Dennis Basso gown for the swanky soiree, wearing her hair pulled back into a bun and accessorizing with sparkling Fred Leighton jewelry.

She quickly recovered from the fall, smiling as she continued on. Panettiere may have anticipated the fall, as she celebrated making it through the stairs on her way up. "Hallelujah!" she shouted as she reached the final step. "I made it up the stairs!

Luckily for the actress, her stumble puts her in good company. Many big-name celebrities have pulled similar moves at high-profile events. Jennifer Lawrence famously fell down on her way to accept her Academy Award at the 2013 Oscars, while Drake fell down onstage in the middle of a concert in 2012, as did Lady Gaga in 2011, and Beyonce in March.
