RHOC’s Heather Dubrow Estranged From Vicki Gunvalson Amid Brooks Ayers’ Cancer Drama: “This Isn’t a Person I Know”

Heather Dubrow Unsure About Castmate Vicki Gunvalson Amid Brooks
Heather Dubrow opened up to Us Weekly about the drama surrounding Vicki Gunvalson's ex Brooks Ayers - find out what she thinks here

The cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County are gearing up to film the Season 10 reunion special this Thursday, and one major point of contention will surely be Vicki Gunvalson’s now ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers — and whether his cancer diagnosis is, as alleged by other women on the show, a hoax. While chatting with Us Weekly at the Celebrating the Women of EVINE Live event in West Hollywood on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Heather Dubrow admitted that things aren’t the same with her pal Gunvalson.

“I’ve always been a really big supporter, Terry and I both, big supporters of Vicki and Brooks. Always,” Dubrow, 46, told Us when asked about the drama on the current season of the Bravo hit show. “What happened this season was, and you’ll see this and then hear about it at the reunion, [but Terry and I] both get brought into Brooks’ health issue.”

“I didn’t want to be a part of it, true or not true, I wanted nothing to do with this,” Dubrow continued, alluding to new castmate Meghan King Edmonds, who actively investigated Ayers’ medical team, his background and more to disprove his health claims. “And we both got pulled in and so I felt like, [Brooks] pulled me in so now we’re going to talk about it. And, you know, I don’t know, I don’t know how to feel about Vicki right now,” the mom of four admitted to Us. “I’m so fond of her, but this isn’t a person I know, and all the rumors and all the inconsistencies and everything that’s going to come up at the reunion, I don’t know, I’m curious what she’s going to say.”

As fans are well aware, Gunvalson has been adamant about defending Ayers while her fellow castmates continue to question whether or not her ex-boyfriend’s medical diagnosis is real.

Us exclusively revealed in August that Gunvalson had called it quits for the second time with her longtime boyfriend. “After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship,” the couple told Us in a statement. “We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths. Though the remaining episodes of Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will show us as a couple, the filming took place in January 2015 through May 2015. There will be no further statements or interviews regarding our relationship as we choose to move on with our lives. Though we choose to live our lives in the public eye, we thank you for your understanding and ask privacy during this difficult time.”
