Heidi Montag’s father, Bill Montag, has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual abuse involving a minor, Us Weekly confirms.
“He did turn in a not guilty plea, the case is set for trial,” his attorney Forrest W. Lewis tells Us. “It’s probably going to be continued to late spring, early summer. That’s all I can say right now."
The story first broke in January when TMZ revealed that Bill had been arrested for allegedly committing acts of sexual abuse and incest at least 50 times on a 13-year-old girl — described as a family member — for years until she turned 17.
According to documents obtained by TMZ at the time, Montag allegedly “groomed her with back rubs in her bedroom in the basement of their home,” attempted to use a vibrator with her, and performed oral sex on her when she was 16.
The alleged incidents, including one in which he's accused of attempting to disrobe and have sex with the unidentified alleged victim, occurred more than 15 years ago.
At the time, a source close to the Hills star and her husband, Spencer Pratt, told Us that "It's all coming from an estranged family member with ulterior motives. Heidi doesn't believe any of it."
