Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's Mama June denied dating a registered sex offender in a Facebook post written early Friday, Oct. 24: "I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else," she wrote.

UPDATE: Mama June posted a video to Facebook on Friday morning after the show was cancelled, offering her take. "This a truth video and answering some of yall question over the last few months since we have had to stay quiet and hope this helps and a appreciation video to all our awesome fans over yrs…" she captioned the clip. She's speaking up. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's "Mama June" Shannon took to her daughter's Facebook page early Friday, Oct. 24, to deny reports that she is dating a convicted child molester, saying she was romantically linked to the man 10 years ago.

"I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors," Shannon, 35, wrote. "Remember you can't believe everything you read!"

The reality TV star went on to say that her four children are most important to her than any other relationship. "I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else," she wrote. "I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life."

Shannon insisted that her long-ago ex, a 53-year-old man named Mark McDaniel, was in her past. "I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn't go back," she said. McDaniel was convicted of aggravated child molestation and imprisoned in June 2004.

According to TMZ, he was allegedly once convicted of child molestation involving Shannon's relative. At the time, the victim was 8 years old. McDaniel is now a registered sex offender in Georgia, where the Honey Boo Boo clan resides.

As a result of the controversy, TLC released a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, speculating whether they would continue filming the smash series. "TLC is not currently in production on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," the network told Us. "We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series."
