Give Honey Boo Boo some Mountain Dew and a few candy bars and she’s ready to conquer the world — or at least the wrestling ring!
Alana Thompson, the precocious 7-year-old star of TLC’s smash Toddlers & Tiaras spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, donned a green princess costume to hop into a Milledgeville, Ga., ring on Tuesday as adoring fans looked on.
Noshing on Mountain Dew soda and candy bars including a Baby Ruth and Butterfinger before stepping into the ring, Honey Boo Boo helped as her mother, June Shannon, facilitated a raffle drawing during the event. Older sister Lauryn, aka Pumpkin, was also in attendance.
Though Honey Boo Boo sipped Mountain Dew on Tuesday, her mom Shannon insists that the famous “Go Go Juice” cocktail of Mountain Dew and Red Bull she once drank is not a consistent part of Honey Boo Boo’s diet. “That was a one time and one time only thing and we don’t do that no more,” Shannon recently told KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest.
Wrapping its first season in September, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo will return with new, holiday-themed episodes that document the family’s Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities on TLC.
“A lot of people say they can relate to us,” Shannon said. “Our fan base tells us that when they have a bad day they can be able to watch our show and be able to get a good laugh; I honestly laugh at the show too because it is kind of funny, because we know we have fun filming it. It’s just all about having fun making memories.”
