Honey Boo Boo’s Anna Cardwell on What She Would Say to Alleged Child Molester: “Leave or I’m Gonna Call the Cops”

Honey Boo Boo's Anna Cardwell Speaks Out: "I Feel Betrayed"
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's Anna Cardwell told Entertainment Tonight what she would say to her alleged child molester if she was to ever see him again, adding that she would "spit in his face."

She’s speaking out. Anna Marie “Chickadee” Cardwell told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, Oct. 30, that she feels “betrayed” by “Mama June” Shannon after her mother allegedly rekindled her romance with a man who she claims once molested her.

Cardwell, now 20, said Mark McDaniel, a convicted sex offender, molested her at the age of 8. A sheriff’s report obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, detailed the allegations and claimed that Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon (who was 3 years old at the time) was present when the incident allegedly occurred in Mama June’s bedroom in 2003.

Cardwell told ET that she has thought time and time again what she would say to McDaniel, now 53, if she were to ever see him again. “I would look at him in disgust and spit in his face and say, ‘You f—ing leave or I’m gonna call the cops,” she said. “You’re not supposed to be here, you know what you did.'”

Mama June, for her part, has since denied that she is again dating McDaniel, who was released from jail this past March upon completing a 10 year sentence for child molestation. “I have not seen that person in 10 years, and do not seem to want to see that person,” she wrote on Facebook last Thursday, Oct. 23. (Contrary to the Honey Boo Boo matriarch’s claims, recent photos of Mama June with McDaniel were released this past weekend.)

Chickadee said she was extremely hurt by her mother. “It’s Mama’s fault. She has to live with it,” Cardwell told ET. “She has brung the past back and now she can’t get it away. I’m mad. I’m upset. I feel betrayed. I feel very hurt. That’s the main thing that I am — I feel very hurt that Mama let him come around.”

Even more upsetting to the reality star is her mother’s demeanor. “It’s like she’s happy,” Cardwell told ET.

“She’s smiling and giggling when he’s around. You know, he’s a child molester, Mama. He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did? And reportedly done it to another girl? And Mama was like, ‘Oh, he never done it to another girl.'”

Cardwell added that she even begged her mom to steer clear of McDaniel by considering the welfare of her other three daughters: Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 18; Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 14; and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 9.

Should they encounter McDaniel, Cardwell gave some advice to her siblings, specifically to her youngest half-sister Honey Boo Boo. “Don’t get too close. Don’t get too attached,” she warned. “Don’t be all lovey-dovey on him because you never know what will happen.”

The latest interview comes in the wake of TLC canceling the smash reality TV series, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. “TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being,” the network told Us last Friday, Oct. 24.
