Dave Annable has survived his first year of marriage — with a few battle wounds, of course.
"Marriage is going well. It's officially four puncture wounds with a steak knife to the kidney — I can survive. I figured that out in the first year of marriage," he joked to Us Weekly at the What's Your Number? premiere in Westwood, Calif. Monday. "If [Odette] hears me say that joke one more time, by the way…I'm trying to make it quicker, but there is a long build up!"
The couple, who tied the knot in Ojai, Calif. on October 10, 2010, will celebrate their first wedding anniversary at their pal Beaver's wedding in New York.
"We'll pretend it's ours, selfishly!" Dave, 32, joked. "Sometimes you go to weddings and you're not sure about the groom or the bride, but this is going to be good fun. They're meant to be together and we're going to party our faces off!"
Per tradition, couples celebrating their one-year anniversary should exchange paper presents — and like a good husband, the actor asked Odette, 26, for some gift-giving advice.
"I actually just asked her, 'Wait, how do we do this? Do you get me something?" he said. "'Should we get pizza? What's the deal?'"
As long as he remembers to get the House M.D. star something, Dave should be in the clear. "I've learned that very quickly!" he laughed.
