Ian Somerhalder's Twitter account was hacked on Tuesday, Sept. 15
Not as it seems! Ian Somerhalder has been happily married to his wife, Nikki Reed, since April, but his tweets suggested otherwise on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The Vampire Diaries actor’s official Twitter account was hacked for nearly 20 minutes around 9:45 p.m. ET.
The actors met on the set of the supernatural CW series The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Dobrev plays dual roles of mortal doppelgänger Elena Gilbert and vampire Katherine Pierce, while Somerhalder plays one-half of the blood-sucking Salvatore brothers.
The hacker changed Somerhalder’s default photo and posted over a dozen comments, including one about his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev. “i lOVE U @ninadobrev,” the tweet read.

Us Weekly broke the news in May 2013 that Somerhalder, 36, and Dobrev, 26, decided to split after more than three years of dating. The hunky star began dating Reed, 27, in July 2014, and they wed this past April. Dobrev briefly romanced Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough, and is now dating actor Austin Stowell.
Fans – or Delena shippers – quickly picked up on the prank Tuesday night. The schemer even retweeted a commenter that couldn’t “stop laughing” at the situation.
