All better!
After her brief hospitalization forced a last-minute scheduling change (boys' and girls' nights were switched around), semifinalist Crystal Bowersox returned to perform on the American Idol stage on Wednesday night.
Had the 24-year-old mother of one -- who reportedly suffers from diabetes -- not been able to perform, she may have been disqualified from the competition.

A mere ten minutes prior to air time, Ryan Seacrest confirmed via Twitter that Bowersox had recovered and was going to perform.
And the judges were impressed with the guitar-playing singer's rendition of "Long As I Can See the Light."
Ha! See what Idol judges loooked like way back when
"You are the truth!" raved Randy Jackson. "I love that girl. That girl is hot!"
Ellen DeGeneres chimed in, ""That was pure, natural talent."
"This is who you are," praised Kara DioGuardi. "You are centered, you are focused the way that the greats are."
See how Idol stars like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have transformed
The biggest thumbs-up of the night, believe it or not, came from Simon Cowell, who compared to Bowersox to a certain Idol all-star. "I completely underestimated you. I promise you this was like the moment when we realized with Kelly Clarkson that we have a really serious artist here, and I think you are a really serious artist."
Tell Us: what'd you think of Crystal's performance?

Tell Us What You Think
17Crystal was good on the last song, but no one is consistant, and that go,s for all 4 jugdes as well, plus the contestants should quit paying so much attention to simon, next to Ellen, he has the least musical talent of all, If you don,t believe it, just look at his bio. Allso they need to do something about Crystal;s yellow teeth.
Ok im from england so we get american idol but no one ever watched it. I'm so thrilled that she is still on! I think she is the best the show has this season! Her voice is AMAZING!!! Love her!!
Crystal's performance was the best by far....I'm rooting for her....She's been my pick from the beginning.
its something about this girls teeth.like the commerical says clean it up.
American Idol Has Hit a Brick Wall For this season, I think the real talent stayed home. In my personal opinion, you either "have it" or you don't. I've never really understood anyone who wants to sing in front of a huge audience who has no stage presence, cannot stay on pitch, is a bundle of nerves, has no confidence or has no understanding of their genre of music. I believe the age range for Idol is 16 - 28. In all honesty, the age range should be 20 - 32. A lot of young people truly do not understand who they are musically at 16 years of age. Sometimes, it takes years of singing and performing, experimenting with different styles before a person realizes what they do best musically. And then, sometimes folks know from day one what they do best. But, these folks are usually very talented and very unique and have something to bring to the table. However, the immaturity level in these young contestants is very obvious this season. There is not one seasoned performer in the bunch. They're not even good at faking a half-decent performance. What is the big deal with singing "young" music, according to Randy and Ellen? I think our society has hit a wall musically. The older stuff is actually a lot better. All of the new music sounds the same, whether pop or country. Everything has the same "sound" today.......boring and un-original. Even this year's contestants who seemed to have individuality are copies of folk singers from days gone by. This truly feels like two hours of karaoke. Some of these young contestants may actually stand a chance if they had a few more years of singing, performing and especially training. But, right now, it's just too soon for most of them. Their nerves, lack of confidence, silliness, immaturity and lack of stage presence will not send me to Wal-Mart to buy their latest CD. I think American Idol has hit a brick wall. Maybe this season should be their last, especially if Simon Cowell is leaving. He's not even as funny as he used to be. The vibe is just gone.......
She was great! Did anyone see how in touch Kara and Simon were?
She was great last night. Did anyone pick up on Kara and Simon being so in touch.
What's with Kara and Simon all touchy-touchy. It's like they were joined at the arms all night. And Kara's husband is in the audience. NOT nice!
I love Simon but he seems quite out of sorts this season. Ellen is just out of it. Her jokes are not funny and she has no music sense. Randy is inconsistent. Kara is a bit full of herself but does offer constructive feedback from time to time.
I didn't watch were performance, but I've heard it was great, I'm glad she's better & back on Idol, and congrats to her on winning Raves!
I love her, I would buy what she put out today. I think she is 100% really talented. I am not impressed with this season of AI including the judges, but she is the one good thing. Go Crystal!
I agree with lobri, Crystal and Siobhan were the best, Im not really feeling Katelyn though. I also agree with Jackie, these judges are not good. Randy can not make up his mind. Kara is too full of her self, Ellen needs to complete a sentence without all the pauses and hum’s (it’s driving me mad, just spit it out), and Simon is sadly the best judge on this show. Even though he is the self-indulgent one and is meaner then he really needs to be. I will continue to watch the show because now I want to see how it all ends up. I will watch the performances and fast-forward the judge’s comments. Crystal, Siobhan, Michael, Lee and Andrew are my picks this season. Tim and Haeley will not be voted off because of the vote for the worst site.
i loved her performance last night, i only watched half of the show but it was my favorite of the first half i saw, by far, i hope she goes a long way in the competition :)
No Simon said he "Misunderestimated" her not "underestimated" her. "Mis-underestimate" is a term coined by President Bush. Nice to see the Brits are using it now.
Crystal, Siohban, and Katelyn were the best last night in my opinion.
I love this girl. I am however done with Idol. The judge's all suck, and sry but that does include Ellen. Kara however is horrible. They need to dump her and fast.
