Iggy Azalea: Leave Me Out of Rita Ora’s Lady Marmalade Discussions, Thank You Very Much

She is just not here for this. Iggy Azalea expressed her disdain for Rita Ora’s proposed remake of Labelle’s 1975 hit song “Lady Marmalade via Twitter on Monday, Oct. 12.

“I’m trying to round up the troops,” the British singer and actress, 24, told The Sun. “I think it would be me, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX — she’d be fun — and Iggy.”

After social media swiftly attacked the idea, the “Fancy” rapper, 25, took to Twitter to say she wanted nothing to do with Ora’s plans.

“Please leave me out of the whole Lady Marmalade conversation,” Azalea tweeted. “I have nothing to do with Rita’s idea and agree it should be left alone. Thanks.”

As of early Tuesday, Oct. 13, Cyrus and Charli hadn’t commented on the proposed remake, and Ora had yet to respond to Azalea.

The Australian rapper and the “I Will Never Let You Down” singer collaborated on their 2014 hit song “Black Widow.”

In 2001, “Lady Marmalade” was memorably remade for the film Moulin Rouge and featured Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Pink and Mya, and topped the Billboard Hot 100.
