Keyboardist Isaiah Owens was found dead in his Mexico hotel room at age 38 on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The musician, who was on tour with rocker Jack White, was honored on White’s official website.
“It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah ‘Ikey’ Owens,” a statement on the site reads. “He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans. We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.”
The “Love Is Blindness” singer, 39, cancelled his two remaining shows in Mexico out of respect for his bandmate’s passing.
The exact cause of Owens’ death remains under investigation. The Long Beach musician also performed with The Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents.
